I spent almost 3X as much for this fork than the cheap pig iron fork it replaced (the base of the handle snapped). Not only is stainless smoother, it is thinner and stronger than pig iron. So it slices into the soil like butter. Instead of using a shovel to dig up everything and losing all my valuable plants, the fork loosens the soil, so I can hold the undesirable weeds and pull them all out, leaving only the desirable ones intact. Because soil has been minimally disturbed, the roots of the desirable plants are not destroyed. Despite almost 3X the cost, your effort is reduced tremendously. Save your back, while accomplishing much more. This tool is a Godsend!
