After reviewing multiple mixers both hand and stand variety, I found the best in all options. This Hamilton Beach 6 speed is on a stand, has a beautful stainless steel bowl, beaters, whisk and dough attachments; plus, it is 6 speed and has a powerful motor. I used it for the first time the other night, it is so great, and you can't "beat" the price!
This mixer is like a premium hand mixer in some ways. Mainly because it includes a mixing stand and bowl. But there are better quality hand mixers on the market. This is definitely a basic hand mixer. The unit easily detaches from the base/bowl. The next obvious step would be a nice dedicated stand mixer. But if you are just replacing a hand mixer, but want the option of occasionally being able to use a stand mixer, this is great. This is a great item for people that may need to use a mixer once a month or so. For a heavy cooking person, I would shop around for a dedicated hand mixer and a dedicated stand mixer.
I love my Hamilton Beach Stainless 6 Speed Hand and Stand Mixer. It was everything that they said it would be. I like making cookies, bread dough, cakes and pies.I have no problems lifting it at all. I have owned several of these and the Hamilton Beach is the best by far. I think that everyone should own one. I truly would recommend it to a friend, and beside I gave one to my daughter so I had to buy me a replacement one for my very own kitchen. It make making so simple and easy and love the way it can be use as a hand mixer as well. Love the stainless bowl and it looks beautiful in my kitchen. I live alone and I love to make dessert and trying out new things with my mixer. It has not let me down yet. My daughter enjoys the one that I gave her. She makes all sort of dessert and bread with her mixer. It looks beautiful in her kitchen, and it matches her canister set that i gave her as well. Great Offer Stock has out done them selves on this one, and the price is very affordable compare to the ones that I have seen in most stores. Expect it to last a long time and I have no complaints at all. I give it six stars. Celesteen C
She liked it. She only wishes it were more powerful, but it performs the job for which it was intended~hands free mixing.
had to bang my hand on top of the back to get it to first latch to the stand, but works great now. not the best for bread dough unless you take it off the stand then you can get the sides of the bowl better. very strong motor has no trouble mixing. not too heavy as a hand mixer but not a cheap lightweight either.
This stainless steel hand mixer is great for everyday small mixing. I love the stainless steel. It is wonderful and I will be buying another one for my sister in the future,
This is the worst stand mixer I have ever used. it is so light weight it moves on the counter when trying to scrape down the bowl as it runs. I have yet to be able to cream sugar & butter to a fluffy consistency. It is advertised as 6 speeds yet the first three are the same high speed making it impossible to add flour without turning it off. In order to raise the beaters up out of the bowl, you have to push a button on the back of the stand. In order to put the beaters down into the bowl, you have to push the same stupid button. On the back of the stand. So inconvenient. I do not recommend this stand mixer.
The mixer does not efficiently cover the dough without manual intervention, according to the wife. She has used units which correctly kneed the dough without manual intervention. The reviews on this product are mixed throughout the Internet, unfortunately my wife's experiences aligned towards the negative ones.
This hand mixer is a gem! I totally love the speeds it offers, the bowl, and mixer. I highly recommend this product for it's reasonable price and quality.
Runs very fast on low and not useful for everyday use. Not strong as I expected.
I like the versatility of a stand mixer that converts to a hand mixer, however, where it engages and disengages from the stand is plastic, not metal. I know that after a number of times it is removed and replaced from the stand, the clips will eventually break off and I won't be able to use it as a stand mixer. I bought this to replace one I used to have that was metal. I do like the variable speeds since you really can tell a difference in each progression. Also, the bowl, various attachments and 2 different positions for the bowl placement are all positives!
Just needed something to bake cookies and brownies .., this will be ok for simple stuff
Actually this is below average. Too Heavy to be a hand mixer and the bowl spins when you use it as a stand mixer therefore not really mixing anything.
I had a hand mixer before, but this is like a hand mixer with a bowl attached to a stand. It works like a more expensive mixer and really saves time. I made an Epicurious Yam Trifle today with little effort.
I was having thoughts on purchasing this one at first but upon reading the reviews, I did make the purchase and I'm glad I made the right choice. I love the fact that I can just use it is a hand mixer. That way, those small mixing I need to do need not to be on put on big mixing bowls. Recommended!
Button to keep the head on the stand doesn't engage properly. Have to push button to lift the head on stand. Very inconvenient. Bowl has grove in bottom that catches ingredients and doesn't get mixed in well.
I love this product for baking. The number one reason is that the bowl turns, as opposed to the mixer. It allows me to add ingredients while the mixer is running with no spill or mess and I can clearly see what's happening inside the bowl. The motor is excellent and it I'm sure it will last a long time like my other Hamilton Beach tools.
Mixer worked very well. Especially liked bowl feature. This enabled to stir and turn at the same time. Would buy again
Like that it is both stand and hand mixer a lot.
Works good but beaters that come with it are not long enough for using it as a bowl mixer.
