After months of looking at many other steam mops on the internet, I stumbled across this one and have found my favorite new cleaning tool. My house is all ceramic tile, and we use carpet runners to help cushion our steps in some places. My ceramic tile is not just plain ceramic tile, it is white and has pits to give it a speckle look of blue grey (to me it looks dirty even when it's clean). I had been using Swiffer wet pads for the last 4 years in our home after I got tired of using an old mop just pushing around dirt. I liked that the wet pads cleaned but didn't leave the floor feeling clean only sticky and after realizing all the times I bought them at $15 a pop I could have had this. So with permission (because it is more expensive than most) and my Mother's day gift I bought this. Pros: - Heats up fast -Has different cleaning pads for different jobs, as well as brushes to scrub (bristles are all one length, so didn't clean my grout, but I could tell was sanitized when using the pads) -Unit is easy to assemble, just one screw -Water tank comes off the unit for easy filling -Is light weight in my opinion, but you can feel the difference when the pads are soaked -CR motion is great for my tiles helps clean better than just steaming back and forth -Steam is hot enough to get rid of spots that have been on my floors for months (mudroom by backdoor has tiles that take up mud almost instantly, this removed it when Swiffer pads did not) -2 different steam options, green for carpets and wood flooring, red for tiles and harder to clean spots -Tank of water lasts about 15-20 minutes when just using the steam mop, when using CR motion mine unit uses more water, so refill more frequently when using this setting -Carpet glide helps refresh my carpet runners as well as help with stains when you spray your stain remover on the carpet, then run the machine over, then blot -Can tell the difference in the two different types of cleaning pads, the scrubbing ones have a weave in them and polishing ones are more of a loose microfiber -Throw the pads in the washer to get them clean, DO NOT PUT IN THE DRYER -Extra pads are sold *** and well worth the price -When using CR motion it sounds a little less quitter than my vacuum (a video review it sounded like a tank) -Machine maneuvers great, mop head pivots all around to get into hard to reach places -Overall great steam mop Cons: -Removing pads and putting them back on when pads get to wet (I have solved this by lining the pads with the edges of the heating mat that you get, top to top edge for the first, bottom to bottom for the second, removing the old and then lifting the unit and placing it back down on the heating mat so that the pads are aligned) -Uses more water when in CR motion (in my opinion) -Scrub bristles included are not really for grout, but for more outside purposes -4 scrubbing pads and 2 polishing pads included. Not enough in my opinion, but that is why they sell extras. Overall I really enjoyed this mop, not really ideal for steaming mattresses or furniture as the inside pamphlets say, but really just for the floor. Do not store this with water in the tank. I have been using distilled water to make my unit last longer because we have hard water. Make sure to air dry pads and not put them in the dryer.
This steamer is very light weight but powerful. And I love the back & forth motion it makes when steaming.
Love, love, love this! So does our housekeeper and super picky clean freak friend! Works amazing on tile, and carpet. The brush with the agitation scrubs like crazy, yet is super lightweight. Made my carpets look new, and tile shine like never before! Had this a couple years now, and when it finally dies (no signs yet!) will get another. Get the extra pads too. Very handy to throw into the wash. They last forever too!
I like the scrubbing action the most
