The instructions rated this a moderately difficult table to assemble, but it was actually pretty easy. The top and drawers are pre-assembled and only need to be laid on the floor while you insert the legs (after attaching the lower shelf to the legs). It might be challenging for one person to do alone, which might explain their difficulty rating. It took us about 15 minutes.
The drawers are shallow -- about 1 1/2" deep -- and I wish they'd slide more smoothly, but that's a minor complaint.
I'm not really a fan of the metal+wood look, but this will be in our entryway and get knocked around quite a bit by the front door, the vacuum and our toddler, so sturdiness is more important than aesthetics. The top and shelf are a nice walnut brown, not gray at all.
