Loved the art work but hated the frame. I thought the frame was silver but it was gold. It takes away from the art work
Didn't do enough research before purchasing this piece and one other--Monet "The Road Bridge at Argenteuil". Apparently the gold standard for these reproduction pieces is Giclee and these are not. They're okay. The frames and the colors are beautiful, but they're just a little one dimensional, with not enough paint strokes to make them great.
I have purchased 20 oil reproductions. A few have been great, a couple have been bad, and most have been very close to what I expected. I base my expectations on both the picture displayed as well as a picture of the print which can be viewed at any one of a variety of websites. Keep in mind that the print is the exact duplicate of the original and that these paintings are subject to a persons artistic license. in this case that artistic license has been well placed. the frame was spectacular for this canvas. The workmanship was excellent and the artistic license, if any was take, was fine. I would not rate this a being the top first or second out of the 20 I have but it would make the top 5. Nice use of color but the detail onboard the boat could have been a little clearer. Other than that, an excellent rendition of the original.
I put this in my bedroom in between 2 windows and it fits and looks perfect! It adds a little touch of happiness to the room! Very simple and not over the top. Love the canvas and frame it is made with. Easy to match with everything.
