I was just about to write this review and I read the one directly below that was unhappy with this giclee canvas art because it was dark. Back in the 1700's to 1800's, the style of impressionism were painted using dark colors. Degas spent many nights at the theatre and this is how a ballerina is often seen at night. I LOVE mine! I did not hang it in the intended spot. Instead I hung the giclee in my guest bathroom with all contemporary fixtures in white porcelain and walls painted in a "pumpkin butter" or maple color. This painting having the vintage feels next to contemporary furniture and fixtures is quite sophisticated. I learned this style while touring castles that were hundreds of years old in Montreal, Quebec. Have fun with your art. If the painting or giclee does not work where you intended it to go, find another nook or cranny. And hang it lower and off center. Will strike up conversations. This giclee also extends the painting as a wrap around the sides. Some prefer that look and it is professionally done. Marvelous! This is my 3rd Degas giclee from Great Offer Stock. Might pick up one more but I do like many other artists as well. Extremely happy with this choice.
Good quality and exceptionally happy with this purchase. Would definitely recommend if you're a fan of Degas and ballet!
I have always loved this painting, however I am disappointed. The picture is very dark. Update I have had this painting for 8 years and I found a wall that works for this picture. I put in a new review with a picture
This was really poorly made. One of the sides is crooked and curves inwards making it look lopsided. I only paid *** for it after using my Great Offer Stock rewards and it's going to cost me $10 to ship it back so I'm keeping it, but I'm not happy about it at all. Also, the colors aren't vibrant at all. It's very dark. I'm seriously disappointed.
