I ordered both the chest and the dresser in cherry mahogany. I had to wait a while for someone to help me put them together because the wood for frame is solid and heavy - a plus! We put the dresser together first. The frame and the front of the drawers all look very good and made sturdily (there was one scratch on a drawer front, but not horrible). The drawer interiors are terrible. The front of the drawer is made of wood. The interior sides are soft composite and the bottom of drawer is basically a thin piece of cardboard. Every time I open a drawer the front falls off because the composite wood and the pegs aren't holding the wooden front of the drawer in place. Also on the very bottom of the front of the dresser is a long front piece which needs to be sanded on one side because it doesn't fit exactly. This makes the bottom drawer fall of the gliders because the bottom of the dresser frame is off by a quarter inch or so. I'm really disappointed with these issues mainly because it would be such a great dresser otherwise. I would have given it 4-5 stars except for the drawers. So I have to go to the hardware store, buy nails to keep the pegs in place on the drawers and pine replacements for the interior of the drawers. It's a lot of unnecessary work. And finally, the instructions could better. I haven't put the bureau together yet, until I'm sure the fixes for the dresser will work - I may need to do same for bureau. If they don't work.... My suggestion to South Shore - make the drawers pieces out of pine. It will be a perfectly good dresser with fewer issues.
