Bought this when I first moved into my apartment, so I've had it for six months now, and it still works perfect. I don't have pets, so not sure how it is with pet hair. I have a one bedroom that only has carpet in the bedroom and living room, so it works great for my needs, and don't see why the way it works would change due to the amount of space, but by some of the reviews I've read, I guess it does? Anyway, I love it. It's very lightweight and not super bulky, so it's easy to store. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

I'm mostly happy with this vacuum, which I have been using for about six months, but both the hose and the upper chamber of the canister get clogged a lot and are a pain to clean out. This may not be an issue for everyone, but if you're like me and share your home with multiple four-legged friends, it may be a problem. The carpeting that I have also sheds a lot, so I guess my use qualifies as medium to heavy duty. This vacuum cleaner would be excellent for light duty cleaning - it's has great suction for its size, is lightweight and easy to handle, and the canister is very easy to remove/empty when it doesn't clog up, but if your house gets furry/dusty/linty on a regular basis for whatever reason, you may want to invest in something else.

I would have given 5 but, the Black and Decker, and the Bissel seem a little more sturdy. I do know someone with one of the original canister vacuums and that DD is still picking up dirt.

I had this vacuum for 2 months. Then one day the motor just started smoking. Needless to say I had to throw it away.

This vacuum did not last 6 months.

I bought this vacuum because one review said it picked up pet hair. IT DOES NOT. As long as I go forward it works. When I pull it back it releases the pet hair. I looked once again at the reviews and I saw many that said NOT GOOD ESPECIALLY FOR PET HAIR. it was a total waste of money and I had to put it together myself.

Small, easy to store, and strong cleaning action.

Love it! Great pick up and I like the onboard attachment for digging into couch crevices or quick crumb pick ups.
