I ordered this because getting a sewing table / center shipped to Hawaii is problematic. No one wants to ship there, or, the fees exceeds the cost of the item. This was one of a very few products that could be shipped, even then the cost of shipping approached the cost of the item.
However, I digress, the unit itself is well engineered .. it comes in a flat-pack box and you're expected to assemble it. I took about 20min to inventory all of the parts and fasteners (using a pretty good guide) and then about another 1.5hrs to assemble. It's pretty straightforward except in two areas:
1. The drawers have to be assembled with glue. Although easy to assemble, I wonder about the long-term reliability of glued drawers; I would have hoped for some kind of secondary fasteners or biscuits.
2. The hinge mechanism for the section of the cart that can be retracted or deployed is okay but I also wonder how many times you can deploy and retract before the screws work themselves loose. I think that machine screws into inserts would have been better than wood screws. Also, the diagram for assembly of the hinged mechanism was a little confusing; I first screwed it together backwards, but that was easily corrected. Hint: Don't insert the screws completely until you're sure everything is oriented properly. And, have a friend or someone handy to help you when connecting the movable section. I didn't, and had to jury rig supports to hold everything steady while I installed the screws.
However, for the price, it's a good unit. It would have been a great unit had I not had to pay $120 for shipping.
