I ordered the trundle version after reading previous reviews. It arrives in three boxes. I put this product together myself in less than two hours. I had my husband tighten all joints with a drill afterwards. I bought a XXX mattress from Mattress Firm that dropped right in the top bed. Because of previous reviews, I thought fitting the bottom mattress would be a challenge so I didn't buy one for the bottom YET. The mattress I bought for the top dropped right into the bottom slot with no problem. The only issue is, it is ten 1/2 inches thick and I must lift the couch slightly to slide the bottom back with this thick mattress. I'm a sixty-year old woman and it was no problem. I planned to buy a thinner mattress for the bottom but my husband said no. He feels the slight inconvenience of lifting the couch 1" off the floor to pull the trundle in and out is worth it to have our guests (who come two week a year) comfortable. (A 9" mattress would slide easily) My only complaint about this product is the linen had a couple of snags. DON'T CUT THEM OFF. I used a small needle and poked them back into the stitching. They are now invisible. I searched the city of Albuquerque and all the daybed trundles were either metal or wood. This had the modern look I was seeking. I have no regrets on purchasing this product.
I purchased this daybed to use in our guest room which is small and this bed is HUGE!! It's a beautiful piece though. A couple of things to note though, a normal twin is too small. There are several inches on the end of the mattress. You need at least a 10 in thick mattress to cover the gap in the back. With an 8" mattress, a child would fall through. Pillows will hide the gap, but it's not safe for sleeping - I recommend putting children on the trundle. The trundle slides easily even on carpet and slides completely away from the top bed. It can be placed on the other side of the room. When pushed under the bed, it fits perfectly. So far, we love it!
The Deco Linen Rolled Arm Daybed and Trundle arrived on time as promised. It is't hard to put together and all the pieces were included. As indicated, on the comments, a twin x long would be best for the top mattress and a twin regular or twin x long would work well on the trundle part.
It is a good day bed for the price, the assembly was very easy. However note, that it is not intended for everyday heavy use. The planks for mattress support are flimsy and if you plan on using this bed a lot I would recommend adding a layer of plywood to support the mattress. It works for us because we bought it for a nursery room to have an extra sleeping space in case someone has to sleep with the baby. It is also very tall, taller than I expected because of the rolling trundle underneath. It is a good option to have a trundle and having an option to place another mattress there and use as a second extra sleeping space, but for now we are using it as a storage and it works great, because it gives you tons of storage under the bed. We got this bed in a grey color and it actually looks very nice and true to picture. I would say that the fabric is a little thin though and you can feel the soft padding underneath. The material is also stretched a little at the spots where it is attached to the frame by metal stapler clips. Overall I would recommend this product if you are not looking for something fancy-looking-every-day-use kind of thing. It does it's job, but will not last for long time.
Very pleased with this bed. My daughter loves it. Easy to put together; the reviews were right on about this and I purchased the 10 inch XL Memory Foam mattress for the top and the 8 inch one for the trundle and both fit perfectly. It does take a good 24 hours for the mattresses to expand; when I first put them on the bed I was nervous thinking they didn't fit the next morning they had expanded out of the box to the proper fit. VERY SATISFIED. Would buy this again if I need a 2nd one. Interestingly enough it wasn't too hard to find sheets and such to fit the bed. I purchases XL Twin set locally and then found a beautiful paisley grey and white fleece throw which was 50' x 72' and it fits perfectly and lands just above the trundle. Not too big; not too small.
We have now had three sets of guests use the daybed and everyone thought it performed perfectly. Make sure to get a 10 inch long mattress for the bottom and a 10-11 inch mattress for the top.
Very happy with the Trundle bed by Inspire. I love the grey linen fabric as well as the entire look of the bed. It sleeps two people without taking the space of two twin beds in the room. My son put it together in about two hours.
We bought the Deco Linen Rolled Arm Daybed and Trundle for our guest room. The color is perfect and matches the pictures shown! We use a twin XL mattress for both and it fits great!
... but fine overall. The first problem I encountered was some damage on the package that got to one of the pieces. Luckily, it was the back of the trundle so the hole cannot be seen unless you pull it all outside, but I will still send a message to see if they can send a new piece. The second issue is related with the size of the mattress used. It says it is ok for 7-10" twin mattresses but the truth is that a 7-8" will not be high enough to reach the lower side of the back piece leaving an ugly gap (and dangerous, a kid's arm could get stuck there). Even with covers. We are looking to buy a 10". On the other hand, the trundle does not open and close easily with a 9-10" mattress, you would need to lift the whole thing to get it in/out. So a 7-8" mattress is recommended here. Lengthwise, there is another gap on the upper since the structure is around 77" and twin mattresses are 75"... The trundle is a bit smaller so it is fine. By the way, no way to fit a twin XL on either. The last con is about the height of the upper bed, do not even think about being able to sit on it like you would on a sofa unless your are 7' tall. 5'6" here has to leap awkwardly just to sit on the edge and we still have an 8" on top, once we have the 10" to cover the gap with the back piece, it is going to be funny. But, even with these turndowns, we do like the daybed and it works for what we want (an alternative to a bunk bed that kids can use to sit and read too). The price is very competitive and Great Offer Stock often offers extra discounts, I have seen lower quality ones for much more. The fabric color is surprisingly accurate to the pictures, which is nice for huge items bought online (we got the beige). I hope it helps!
This daybed was the 'make it or break it' piece for my tiny San Francisco apartment. I have limited space, but a versatile, open floor plan, and I love to entertain, so I wanted something that could serve as both a sofa and a bed. Luckily, it does just that, and even serves as a guest bed. It came in a few very large boxes, so hauling it up four flights of stairs in my building, by myself, wasn't very pleasant, so I recommend having someone to help. Putting it together was fairly easy and the directions were straightforward. It took me a total of about 5 hours for the entire thing, but I was also binge watching a show, so maybe you can do it faster. It's been almost a year since I purchased it and I still love it. I recommend checking the bolts after a few months, as they may become slightly loose and need to be tightened. I bought two Tulo twin-sized mattresses; the top is a twin XL, and the bottom is a regular twin. I believe they are 10" high, but could probably accommodate up to 12", especially for the top. The bottom bed can easily be pulled out and placed anywhere in the room since it's not attached to the top/main base. I usually turn it perpendicular to the top bed to watch movies while lying flat, or just to make sure I don't step on the person sleeping below. Overall, very happy with this purchase, just wish the back panel was upholstered, but not a big deal for my particular use. Update: It's been 3 1/2 years since purchasing this item and since then it's gone through two moves. To my surprise, it's still a very sturdy daybed even after being disassembled and reassembled a few times. I'd happily purchase another one.
I use it in my guest room and my guests always say how comfortable it is. I like the x-long bed and the trundle is just perfect. I also like the fabric upholstery of the be instead of a metal frame.
Our house is small, so we've really got to be able to put each and every room to as much use as possible. We were struggling to find furniture to make the most of our smallish, spare bedroom: comfortable for guests, but more than just a bedroom the rest of the time. This daybed fits the bill perfectly! I was a little nervous about it being too big based on some of the other reviews. However, I think it only seems big if you think about it first as a sofa and second as a bed. Yeah, it would be a big sofa. But if you think about it first as a bed, then it really doesn't feel big at all. Really pretty easy to put together. I did it myself, although admittedly there were a few steps where an extra set of hands would have been nice. If I were to look at this daybed from pure design and function, I would give it 5 stars. However, it takes a small hit in my book from the value angle. There just really isn't much material here. The bulk of the daybed is the mattress -- which you have to buy separately. There just doesn't seem to be enough material here to fully justify the cost. I would be surprised if the material costs were higher than $50 altogether. I realize all furniture has significant markups, but those markups were just a bit more tangible to me than normal. But I really don't know if I could have gotten a comparable daybed for any less anywhere else. And in year's time, I'll have an awesome daybed and have forgotten completely about the price. So all in all, I give this my strong recommendation.
I really needed to purchase a couch but I also have a lot of overnight guests, Couch beds are horribly uncomfortable. So I thought I would try this daybed to use as a couch/sleeper in the living room! Looks beautiful! Obvious it is not a couch but surprisingly stylish. Fairly easy to put together. Two hands are better than one in this case. Although it can be done with one person. Shipping was quick and on time. Delivered in great condition, nothing missing, nothing broken. Quality for the price is decent. We bought it when it was on sale for under *** . I personally wouldn't pay more. Color is beautiful, we went with the dark grey. You can't sit on it like a couch. Your feet won't reach the ground. This is for curling up on. Putting your knees up and sitting twisted like a pretzel. Which I love to do. My husband has trouble with his knees so he hated it at first. But with the right pillows you can make it comfortable for sitting and watching t.v. Lot's of pillows! We bought a 6 inch memory foam mattress for the top and bottom which makes it more comfortable. This is a great multi-purpose purchase! Picture to come!
I bought this bed for my son. He is almost 9 years old, and he is TALL! He's already 4 1/2'. I wanted to upgrade him from his plastic race car bed, to open sides. I felt he needed to learn to not fall out of bed now, rather than later. We figured we'd get him something to accommodate his ever-growing height, and hopefully this takes him through his teenage years as well. It fits a TwinXL matress on top & a regular Twin underneath. This daybed is super sturdy & well built! You do need to periodically tighten the screws on it, as stated in the instructions. It doesn't state how often, but I figure about every 6 months I'll check them. We take turns laying in bed with him at night to read and pray, probably for 20-30 minutes. I weight around 195, my husband is about 215, and our son is somewhere around 65-75. It holds us just fine! I bought an 11" memory foam mattress to go ith it, a tall one to cover the back hole that shows the wall, but I do still see about 1/2" of the gap, although it's not bad looking. It fits in the room so much better than a traditional bed, because it can be against the wall without looking ridiculous. I actually got this on Black Friday, and I will be watching for another sale, so I can get another one for my guests to use, down in my basement. I love this bed, and would recommend it to anyone!
The daybed is larger than I thought it would be, but it's great looking and of good quality. I'm a 70 year old woman, experienced in putting "things together" and I managed to put this daybed together by myself, however, if you have someone to help it would go faster. It took me about 3 hours total. I purchased an 11 inch mattress for the top (a 12 inch mattress would work) and a 9 inch mattress for the trundle. I think this daybed is a great value and I'm happy that I purchased it.
This daybed looks great in our space. The fabric is quality, not cheap. The trundle fits an 8" mattress so it's comfortable for guests. The trundle is easy to pull out and back in. Looks like a nice sofa when not used as a bed. For the price, this is a great value.
I do love the way this daybed and trundle looks and it's functionality for a den/guestroom. My complaint is that it is wobbly - we are not able to tighten the screws enough, or maybe it needs more screws, to make it sturdy. And I would HIGHLY recommend NOT getting 10 inch mattresses! They fit but on the bottom, the 10 inch is a bit tight, making it hard to open and close the trundle (especially with it not being too sturdy) and for the top, makes sitting really awkward. Get 8 inch foam for more comfortable sitting, opening, and a nicer look.
Love my decor linen arm daybed. Purchased in the light grey linen it was very easy to put together.
We are very pleased with this daybed (dark grey) with trundle. It really transformed the sunroom we put it in. It got used immediately and everyone who has sat or slept on it said it was the perfect size and style. The dominant color in the rug is deep seafoam green and the grey looks great with it. My husband put it together 85% by himself. I would suggest a drill or electric screwdriver to put on the slats. It's a lot of screws and your hana wound cramp without the assist.
This daybed/trundle turned out much better looking than I anticipated. It is a nice size and sturdy. Very beautiful piece for my new "She Cave". Only con is it came in 3 boxes and took my husband a while to put together. I will upload a photo once the mattresses, pillows, and bedding arrive (not included with the order).
