Adjustable rods just scream "budget" to me no matter how much they cost, and so it's always a chore to find a rod with the quality and style I need without resorting to an interior designer (or a hacksaw) to get custom rods. This rod is heavy, the textured bronzed surface is a very dark brown over dark gold so that the rod doesn't just look rustic, it also feels rustic. The description states the finials are resin but I did not know that- I thought they were also metal. There was one finial out of six that had a screwhole with bad threads so the finial couldn't be securely attached. I just kept the protective rubber cover on the end of the rod in place, and pushed the finial on over that, and it's quite secure until I get around to finding a wider screw or filling and redrilling the hole (which I doubt I ever will).
