I use to have a circulon one, unfortunatelly it got too old and started to leave traces of black stuff (teflon I guessed) on my food.. eww! That is why I got this shinny one with no teflon, but still does a very good job. I cooked a stew and did not stick or burn at the button. Another very good think about this pot is that it heats up in no time. You just put it on the stove and is ready to start cooking or boiling. I think is a very good pot and I am pleased with it. ;)
I have been searching high and low for pots in size 6, 8 and 12 qts. I cook for 6 people so need big pots. This review is for Cusinart Chef Classic's 8 qts. The top lid is stainless steel and NOT glass. Stainless steel lid is better than glass so I am keeping this top even though there are some short comings. The shape and size of the pot is perfect. However, I find the stainless steel to be a bit thin compare to Tools of the Trade that I bought from a local department store over 10 years ago. Also, there is spots on the stainless steel after you use the pot. I have a feeling it is not 18/10 since the stainless steel discolored. The pot is super shiny so scratches are visible very easily. I'm on a budget so I'm keeping this pot. It is more than what I want to spend but it is the cheapest I can find for pot with stainlesss steel lid.
Very happy with this. Much cheaper than in the stores. Solid pot; good workmanship. I use it all the time
This stockpot is the quality I expect from Cuisinart and am satisfied with this purchase. After cooking pasta in a 3QT saucepan for years, I decided to purchase an official stockpot - and is 8QTs. You can't go wrong for the price and the pot represents Cuisinart's typical quality & reliability, which is and has been pretty good in my opinion. I'm expecting to get many, many years of use out of this purchase. And way to go on the shipping time, Overstock! Super-impressed.
This is a terrific stockpot at an exceptional price. Generally heavy and well made. The handles are substantial and won't burn like some others. Easy to clean. I find that it browns evenly. The only change I would make has to do with the manufacturer. I would like to see more bottom surface and less depth. Typically most recipes start with sautéing so more bottom surface area is preferable. Can't go wrong with this purchase. Cuisinart quality is still alive and well.
I don't know how I ever lived without this! I use it at least three times a week. Usually I use it to cook potatoes for mashing or potato salad. Sometimes I use it to cook squash for squash casserole. My recipe calls for five pounds of squash, and I used to have to use two pans to cook that much, but it all fits in this one. It's also much easier to get spaghetti into. It's very easy to clean and still looks new even after all it's been through. :)
This is exactly the size I needed, and the heavy duty quality that I expect from Cuisinart. I'm very glad I got this pot.
I love this pot. I use it almost every day. It is heavy height and cleans easily. You can never go wrong with Cuisinart. I have purchased several sizes in this line.
Excellent quality and great price! Already had a couple pieces of Cuisinart and this was a much needed addition!
