MDF not wood as per the specs Says "Wood" in specs, but when I look back after I received the item, says "MDF" in the description. Anyhow, my fault for not seeing and questioning it at the time I purchased. That said, this is not worth the price. It is cheap and the picture makes it look better than it is. Even for an MDF piece of furniture, I feel like I could have gotten it cheaper at Walmart. I put it together anyway, in the hopes it would work, but it's just bad. The doors of slightly off, the cam bolts busted through one side, and the part that holds the magnet at the top to catch the doors tilts inwards and outwards when opening/closing the doors -- annoying. There is also a gap between the top and the part that holds the magnet, but you can't tell very well since the dark color inside obscures it a bit. Not happy because it's only worth half the price I paid, but I wasn't about to take it all apart and pack it up again to ship it back. I've ordered other products that were in fact MDF and they looked better than this.

Okay for the money... It is black - it is much darker than the picture. I purchased it to store sweaters and it's not bad. The boards are a bit thin - and we had to really be very careful when tightening screws so that it didn't crack. It's a good size. I don't know if it would be able to handle books or anything very heavy.

less than average This is the first time I felt the quality of the product was less than average. It was bad when I took the stickers off with the lettering on them it left marks and when I tried rubbing them out it left them permanet. Not quite the quality I am use to getting. I would rate it a c- at best.

Wouldn't buy this again This cabinet was pretty hard to put together. Used some wood glue on the dowels to add stablility. The photo is a little misleading; the inside of the cabinet is very dark. Anything you put in there will not really show up very well. Got a small LCD light and mounted it on the top shelf, but the light doesn't reach the other two shelves. Looks pretty cheap, but I actually took some sandpaper and distressed it a bit and that definitely helped. This truly is more black than brown. Overall, it looks OK, but I feel it was overpriced. This is the first time I've been less than 100% satisfied with an Great Offer Stock purchase.

If the TV width is so that it nags over the sides too far, I'd be afraid that the cabinet and TV would fall over. Especially if on carpet or children/dogs are around. It's pretty sturdy for its size and depth but I'm not sure good for a tv.

it would be sturdy enough to hold the tv, but to fortify it better when assembling, put glue in the dowels that connect the pieces. i did that and it made it sturdy. but if you have small children better find a way to anchor it.

If you adjust the shelves to 9 1/2", you will only have 2 shelf spaces. There is not enough room for 3 spaces. In each of my cabinets, I only used one shelf (creating 2 spaces) b/c the cabinets are actually smaller than they look in these pictures.

I wasn't sure what it weighed but I cannot carry it by myself (so it's pretty sturdy/I'm kind of weak :). It's obviously not solid wood (price) but I think it's a good purchase for the money if you want something versatile that looks nice but won't cost you an arm and a leg. If you want something really sturdy, you'll probably have to find something made of real wood. It will definitely cost more though.
