COMPACT AND HEAVY The base comes in two parts. The weight base and the pole sleeve with two adaptors to fit different pole sizes: 38mm-48mm. Instructions recommend a maximum umbrella diameter of 70-78 inches. My umbrella is 102" and it seems secure and withstood a recent sudden thunderstorm. It is a two person job to connect the sleeve to the base. I compared a lot of bases and this one fit under my curved leg table and per pound it is a good value. It seems durable but I have only had it two weeks.
