When I opened the curtains the fabric had metallic marks on it from the grommets. I followed the care instructions and hand washed the curtains to remove the metallic marks then hung the curtains to dry as directed. The original marks washed off but rusty rings bled out from the grommets onto the fabric.
Perfect blackout panels! Looks great on curtain rod!
The close-up pictures show the chevron/zebra tone-on-tone texture that this curtain has, but the full-length picture makes it appear as though it cannot be seen from across the room. NOT TRUE! (FYI: It's somewhere between a chevron and a zebra print--very modern and not what I was looking for.)
I got these curtains for my living room where I do not have blinds, because I wanted something people could not see through at night, and that would appear plain and have no pattern from the street. These work perfectly. They are thick and opaque, and look fine from the outside of the house. I also wanted white, not cream or off white, and for some reason white is very hard to find in a curtain. Just be aware that they are not just a solid white, but they have an ever so slight light grey chevron pattern. It's subtle and, I believe, makes the curtains even nicer, but if you are looking for truly solid white you may be disappointed. Also, this pattern makes them look nice for a living room, but probably wouldn't work for a bedroom.
I like them even better in person. You should definitely hang them before attempting to iron them. They are tightly packaged and hanging them first relaxes the fabric and gives one an opportunity to make sure there are no unforgiving imperfections. I purchased 32 panels and two of them have the same flaw. The only way to explain it is that the underlying material that creates the blackout is missing in one tiny area so that when it is hung, it looks like there is a small hole. But to look at the fabric on either side - there isn't a hole. It's not even shear there. I haven't contacted Great Offer Stock yet but I am familiar with their awesome customer service and not concerned about replace/returns. These are really hard to get ironed out. I tried several options (the first being the manufacturers instructions that made me question if they have actually ever followed their own instructions!) The fabric has a strong memory for wrinkles. I ended up soaking the whole panel in tepid water for 1/2 hour, wringing out the excess water and then pressing out the curtain with a dry iron at its hottest setting. They were damp when I hung them and they look GORGEOUS! They have a fine and funky chevron pattern delicately catching the light when they are opened so they don't look like you hung up a heavy sheet. When closed - the room is black with just a hint of light around the border. It took a half hour to iron one panel.
I am giving these curtains a low rating not because they're not of good quality, but because both panels were deeply wrinkled and creased and jammed into a small package about the size of a child's T-shirt. I couldn't believe it. The curtains have a thermal backing. So the wrinkles can't be ironed out. I have been very carefully steaming them from a distance, and have achieved lightening some of the wrinkles out of a tea towel-sized area on one panel. It has taken me 45 minutes to do this much. I should not have to be doing this. To complete getting out as many wrinkles as possible, will likely require another 2 hours...then I have the other panel to do. The curtains are of good quality but that goes out the window when they can't even be used without hours of effort trying to get rid of wrinkles. Also, what could not be seen, is that there is a white chevron pattern across the entire off-white background of the curtain. That's ok with me, but it may not be too everyone's taste. I doubt I'll buy anything more like curtains or clothing from Great Offer Stock because of the poor packaging. I did call Great Offer Stock about the poor quality of folding of the curtain panels, and the manner of packaging. They promptly refunded the money for the curtains. With customer service listening to the customer, I will shop Great Offer Stock again.
The curtains I bought in the color of white is a grey/white color and they did not work for me. I will say of all the blackout "White Curtains" I found they were all white/grey in color.
The white curtains have a cool pattern to it to add a little character. We have a street light near our front windows and these curtains definitely block out the light.
If you are looking for quality blackout curtains, these are worth buying. They are very heavy and have a chevron pattern. I am so pleased with these curtains and just ordered more for another bedroom!
For the price, these are fantastic. They are easy care. They come out of the package wrinkled but if you follow the instructions, 90% of the wrinkles fall out. Put them in the dryer low heat with a damp hand towel for 20 minutes. They are perfect. The grommets are copper. The zig zags are visible but contemporary. As for the colour, they are bright white with a silver tone. Very modern and fresh. Total blackout. The real deal. This is hard to find in a 96 inch length. Absolutely a good deal for Canadian customers. I have shopped the Bay and they don't have such a good deal with total black-out thermal quality.
I really should have paid attention to the previous reviews before purchasing these curtains. I have other Eclipse brand black out curtains in our house and am really pleased with them, but these are just different. For starters, the color description and photo shows white curtains but they're more of a silvery/gray color that just wasn't really CLEAN looking because the color wasn't crisp. Although the zebra/chevron pattern on the curtains is tone on tone and pleasant it's not as subtle as I was expecting and you can see it from afar unlike the photo online. Lastly, the material of these curtains is equivalent to a nice table cloth for your picnic table and nothing I really want hanging in my house. Although I wouldn't recommend these particular curtains, I won't be discouraged by the Eclipse brand in general because we have ones that are great quality
The color is not what I would call white, more silver. Not easy care, can't steam wrinkles out. I am returning them.
Great quality curtains! True blackouts. The white color is slightly grey but still perfect. Pattern is subtle but perfect
I bought two other white blackout curtains before purchasing these. I am overall happy with the curtains. I thought it would be hard to get blackout with white but it definitely works. It's. It not as dark as the darker colors but that is expected. The white color is not as bright compared to the other white objects in her room but it works for a kids room. The design on the curtain is not bad as long as you are aware it does have a print on it. I am overall happy with these curtains and recommend them.
I liked the quality of the curtains but l ordered white and got grey instead. Grey is neutral so I kept it.
these blackout curtains are not only functional, but are elegant looking as well. I enjoy the minimalist look with the understated gray/silver on white chevron pattern.
These curtains do a fantastic job blocking light! I was hoping for a matte sort of cotton look to them, but they have a little bit of a shiny finish on the designs. I had been searching for white curtains in the length that I needed for a while and this was the best fit for my needs. Once hung, the shimmer actually made the design pop so I don't mind it at all. Be aware that the white has a bit of a grey tint to it so if you are looking for a warm white, these may not be for you.
Very nice blackout curtains, hang beautifully.
I love these curtains! Blocks out all light. They are the perfect curtain for bedrooms
This is the best curtain that I've found for blocking out the FL heat and light. Do not touch the back with an iron when pressing out the wrinkles.! The hot iron will melt the curtain. The white is not a pure white, but any type of thermal curtain will have a slightly grayish quality.
