After years of refusing to buy stainless appliances we finally got stainless. This vent was a replacement and it is a much better vent than our previous white Broan vent. Hubby had a slight issue when one screw hole didn't match up but install was still fairly simple. It's a lot quieter than the previous vent and the lights are much brighter. Love it so far.

Fan a little loud on high but it doesn't stay loud. It seems to get quieter as it stays on. Matches my new kitchen decor very well.

The range hood I purchased is perfect and looks good, so happy I purchased. The direction was easy to follow only took 30 minutes to take down the old one and put up new one

Challenge: doing a budget kitchen remodel where circa 1982 cabinetry is great...but who makes an itty-bitty over-the-range hood vent like yesteryear?? Broan! QT230! This lightweight unit came pro-shipped and intact from Great Offer Stock. It beautifully slid into the 30" opening. Upside: I thought my tiny kitchen had no exhaust outlet and I'd need a "fan only" unit. The QT230 comes BOTH ways: use "fan only" or adapts for exhaust! WOW. Was it great to discover an old chase way in the wall! My HVAC guy fitted the unit for EXHAUST and the multi-speed fan glides like a dimmer switch: twirl the speed select from whisper-quiet "low" to the powerhouse (and noisier) "HIGH" -- which did a spectacular job of QUICKLY clearing my kitchen of smoke from a burning skillet that activated my smoke detector! It has SUCTION power-to-the-max for your exhaust outlet set-up. Light? It's two-bulb and has two settings. The Stainless Steel was flawless. The black design coordinated beautifully with my Samsung "slide-in" range. I am very very happy with this purchase! Highly recommend. But remember: if you don't have the exhaust "out" -- it's just going to work like a circulating fan, k?
