  • Ductless Installation
    Reviewed at //www.broan.com/

The product was easy to install and works but I had anticipated being able to use the full CFM capabilities. Since I installed it as ductless you can't use all four fan settings just 1 and 2. So it is overkill in my situation. Looks great and works fine on the first two settings but I didn't need to spend the extra for the added CFM I'll never use. Should be made much clearer. The lighting is particularly good.

  • Quiet, efficient

Other than the fact that the fan speeds below high wouldn't work when we first purchased the vent, the vent has been great. Broan paid for an electrician to fix the problem.

  • Not easy to install. Lighting is great. Steam and smoke removal best on left side of stove.
    Reviewed at //www.broan.com/

Overall the product is good. I had a professional electrician do the removal of the old hood and installation of the Broan. He and his helper carefully followed all the directions and remarked that it was not a simple installation. When it was complete, the test revealed a problem with the fan. The hood had to be completely removed, and it was found that the fan housing was loose on its plate. The electrician had to disassemble the fan unit (which was supposed to be installed as is) and tighten the bolts on the housing, then reinstall the hood. This added about an hour to the time and cost me more than should have been. I think the lights work very well, but on fan speed 2 there is no air flow into the hood from the right side of the stove which is where the burner I use most is located. Time will tell if this will be a problem.

  • Worked great until it didn't
    Reviewed at //www.broan.com/

I installed my Allure QS3 approximately 11 years ago, and it ran flawlessly until this week. I came home after a cleaning service had just cleaned the kitchen to find that the unit wasn't working properly. Neither the lights or the fan would run when I pressed the key-pad, although the fan setting LEDs did light up. I jumped on the Broan website and downloaded the installation manual which said this was the classic example of blown fuse--Great, I thought, that should be easy to fix. So, I run out and purchase a box of fuses and take the unit apart. oddly the exploded view didn't show where the fuse was located but based upon the description I expected it to be on the control board. When I got inside the unit though, no fuse or fuse holder anywhere? Once again I returned to the internet, and found a forum discussion about this where others also found there wasn't a fuse. Presumably Broan may have added this functionality in later years? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, now I have a decision, replace the control board or replace the whole unit. Btw, I also installed this unit, as a top-ducted installation, and as I recall configuring it to vent with a rectangular duct out the top required a fair amount of retrofitting and ingenuity. Once installed, however, I loved this unit. very quiet ,yet powerful and up until now dependable.

The Broan Allure III range hood was easy to install and looks great in my updated kitchen. We did have to purchase a 7" damper in order to install it in a vented hood.

The good: Quiet at speeds 1 & 2. Shape looks nice. Like the delay shut-off. The bad: Very uneven suction. Poor suction on right side, poor suction on front burners. The suction fan located on the left rear of the hood, so most of the air gets sucked in there. The shape of the front of the hood does not encourage smoke/grease from the front burners to flow back toward the fan. Instead it goes strait up into the kitchen. The slits on top of the hood allow some of the exhaust to be blown back into the kitchen. I had to tape mine shut.

  • This range hood really sucks!

And that's a good thing for a range hood. Looks nice, and very quiet until the two highest speeds, but even at the highest speed, it's quieter than my old over the range microwave.

I have used this fan to remove smoke when roasting coffee. It does a good job, but probably wasn't designed for that much smoke. Still, I have never had smoke alarm go off.

This an attractive unit with four fan levels. Dimmable lights are a nice touch. Filters are easy to clean. Soft touch buttons are sometimes tricky to use, but they keep the profile lean and are easy to clean.

  • Effective exhaust, moderately difficult installation, below average construction.
    Reviewed at //www.broan.com/

My installation was a bit difficult due to the infrastructure around the fan did not provide adequate mounting points and needed to be shimmed. When finished the installation looked good and fit well in the space where the old one was. I installed it to exhaust the air outside. I had to seal off some of the exhaust pathway inside the fan to prevent the air from going where it should not. Some of the air is still blowing back out into the kitchen because the screws holding the sheet metal around the lights do not tighten in their holes. Therefore there is a gap through which air leaks back.I used all the parts which came with the unit. The holes and screws are not a match.

  • So quiet!
    Reviewed at //www.broan.com/

Love this range hood! It's so quiet and powerful! I cook a lot with oil and just takes the smoke and smell away easily. Also, I love the 'warning filters need to be cleaned' because it tells me in time when I need to just pop them in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning. Beautiful design: sleek and modern look. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone who's looking for an effective range hood.
