Heavy package, of course, but I was able to unpack it in my hallway and carry the pieces into my bedroom. I assembled it myself (I'm a woman) in about 2 hours, taking care and my time. Instructions are similar to *** . Everything fit well and no problems, though I did need to use an awl to make small holes for the screws, since certain parts are not pre-drilled.
The assembled bed is quite nice for the price. So far it seems solid. I've had it for a month now, and it hasn't collapsed. I chose it for the smaller profile and the wide platform slats, since my mattress is like a giant sponge.
The corner posts with their sharp corners are quite dangerous to my shins, until I get used to walking around them rather than into them.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this bed. It's just like it's pictured, with that slightly rustic look. Don't expect high-end at this price. But I really like it.
