Upon arrival and unboxing i was pretty un impressed to the point i was going to return it. The materials are cheap and honestly its not impressive in the box. We decided to put it together as its just a spare bed and for the price we figured everything is about this quality .
Built the bed, took a little under 2 hours, its not hard at all, the instructions are easy and you don't need any tools. Its just a pain in the but as there are a million bolts.
Once the bed was built, in the room with the mattress on it i was pretty pleased with the result. It sits at a nice height, the mattress felt stable on the slates and all in all, for the money it seemed good enough to not take apart and return.
overall, if you like mid century style and are used to the 50's solid maple construction , like me you will be disappointed. IF you can accept that and use it for what it is ( as a spare bedroom bed ) its acceptable.
I would not use this for my master bedroom , unless you really just want something that looks ok and don't want to spend money on real furniture.
And to reference the guy who broke the center portion.. i can see that happening, I am 6ft, 210 and would imagine if things got rough it wouldn't hold up.
