Great Frame, few caveats.
my wife and I ordered this bed to replace out Queen as our two young kids where making it a point to find their way into our bed at night and was making things a little too cozy. The bed frame arrived on a pallet in three pretty big boxes. After breaking the items out of their box and bringing them into the bedroom for inspection I noticed that the construction of the head board and foot board are of pretty good quality. The only thing that lightly rubs me the wrong way is the stitching on the foot board that runs along the top edge is not straight but is a little crooked in places as it doesn't run perfectly down the top edge. So for fit and finish I give it 4 star. The quality of the hardware and side panels are great and solid, the thought process behind how the frame was made is great and it looks and feel robust which is nice to see. The pre curved slats that go into place work as advertised but that is where the second caveat comes into play. I ordered a memory foam mattress for this bed and while the memory foam mattress says that it will work with slats that are no more than 3 inches apart (these slats are about two inches apart) I feel that it might still be effecting the way that our mattress is performing. To give you an example, we received the mattress about a week before we received the bed (took about three weeks to receive after ordering) and we were sleeping on the mattress on the carpet floor and my wife was telling me that she was getting to best sleep of her life, we have now transitioned the mattress into the frame which is slightly too short as we have to push the mattress into the frame for it to fit and my wife now complains that she can't sleep that well and the mattress is difficult to get comfortable in. I can only see this being an issue with the slats and I might take some 3/4 inch plywood and create my own support for under the mattress and remove the slats altogether and put it back to that solid ground like experience for the mattress sake. I'm still giving the bed a 4 star rating based on the construction of the bed. Even though the frame is slightly on the short side. To give an example, when we go to change the sheets, if you were to pull the bottom portion of the bed out of the frame, it would rest around the middle upper portion of the foot board giving you the perception that the mattress won't fit. Maybe the mattress is a little large but just wanted to give you a heads up that my Amerisleep Liberty King mattress fits...but doesn't drop right in, I have to push in the bottom leaving no room for the comforter to be pushed in unless forced, which I guess is great so the comforter never gets stolen.
