Bought this canopy bed for my daughter and for the price I think its a decent buy for a pre teen room. BUT, when putting the bed together be very aware of the canopy holes at the top of the posts - they should face in toward the bed. This is a good indication of whether or not you have the bed posts on the right sides. Also, it is very very important not to over tighten the bolts! If you over tighten them you will have difficulty getting the other pieces to fit. In some cases I left the connections somewhat loose until the end when I doubled back and tightened everything. I did have a piece missing from the hardware kit but I was able to work around it. I am very experienced at putting furniture together and I think this might be moderately difficult for a beginner. I did put together this bed by myself with only the tool provided and it took longer than I would have liked (upwards of an hour).
As stated in previous reviews, this bed is not really copper. If you want a copper bed you can easily spray paint this bed before putting together (Rustoleum makes a great rust color thats very coppery) or you could put it together and paint it (Benjamin Moore has a copper paint that is very durable and very coppery, but expensive ). I also like that you could remove the canopy portion from the posts and just put in post knobs if you tire of the canopy or if you find it takes us too much visual space - instant new bed.
If you have a short box spring this bed will work, but its really made for a regular height box spring.
All in all I think this was a great buy for my daughter. We added a kid friendly "chandelier" to the canopy and the bed is fit for a princess!
Great Offer Stock was awesome with this transaction: ordered the bed one morning and received it the next afternoon and put it together that night - new bed in place in about 24 hours - Not bad at all!
