Great Product, Great Company, but...
We got a great price on this raw-wood cabinet, but there are a few issues you should consider.
1. This particular model is really, really shallow. Ordered this one because my wife demanded a very shallow medicine cabinet although I wanted one at least 3" deep. She won the argument, and now wishes we had a deeper set of shelves.
2. The wood is very smooth and little sanding is needed, but there is more than one kind of wood or type of lumber. The door panel is a flat piece like plywood, while the door frame is machined from solid pine. Problem is that stain adheres differently to the different pieces. Very hard to get the stain to look nice.
3. The holes for mounting (2 on top, 2 on bottom) are inexplicably drilled from the inside, through the upper frame and the lower shelf. This is nuts. The craftsmen could just as easily drilled the holes from the outside down through the top rail at an angle, and up from the bottom through the lower frame. If they'd do this, the holes would not be noticeable at all.
4. One side of the hinges are held on by only one screw. That's it; the relatively heavy wood door has only two short wood screws holding it on. I suspect, with time, the screws will weaken, pull out, and the door will fall off.
5. The directions that come with this product are poorly written. They need to be edited and re-written for clarity. Really no excuse for an American firm to supply such skimpy, hard to understand instructions.
