This bar cabinet is unique, stylish, and very sturdy. It is a great value! I would have given 5 stars if it was not so challenging to assemble. (Or I would have gladly paid more to have it arrive pre-assembled.) I actually enjoy putting things together and am a wiz at "I##a" furniture, but this one was more difficult. It took 2 of us almost 4 hours to finish. We did take our time so it could take less if you were working non-stop.
Here are a few tips. Make sure you have a large area to work in and if your space is not carpeted, use an area rug or something else to provide cushioning while you are working.
The directions are pretty good, but be careful when assembling the "J" panels. One of the diagrams is wrong. Make sure the "finished edges" are both facing out.
There were some pieces that using a drill with the screwdriver bit came in handy including attaching the hinges and the back panels. The pilot holes are not sufficient so the drill was needed. Use a very slow speed.
Also, you'll need a short "stubby" Phillips screwdriver as some areas only have a few inches of clearance in which to work.
Hanging the doors (last step) was tough, so you may want to attach those while the unit is still on its back and then upright the whole thing.
The legs were a bit "distressed" looking but once assembled they looked better.
Once it was all put together we were very happy with the piece. Plenty of storage and the cut-outs are really an interesting feature. The price is so reasonable, you may want to use an assembly service if this seems daunting. It'll be worth it in the end!
