This is a beautiful cabinet and it holds a lot! It seems very well made, of quality craftsmanship, and good materials.
The cabinet itself is 5 stars.
The Great Offer Stock customer service experience was 3 stars which was only salvaged at all by the Amazing Daisy (customer service manager) who by herself is a 5 star gal.
The delivery experience is 1 star.
SIZE: This cabinet is HUGE and yet not so huge. It really does hold a LOT but the cabinet was shorter than I expected. 74" seems tall but that includes the 6" of crown moulding at the top. The interior height is only 68".
The cabinet is very VERY heavy!!!!! I had felt feet ready to be put under the corners as soon as it was unpacked. So glad I did because otherwise it would have killed the floor. In addition to the corners there are "feet" that unscrew. These are to the inside of the corners, not on the corners. Be sure to felt those as well! (You use these to tilt the cabinet back, which will help the doors stay open) Because we didn't know about them, I now have little circle imprints on the wood floor. They are small but something to consider.
STORAGE: There are 7 rows of hanging glass storage and each row will hold 3 white wine glasses. My white wine glasses are 3.25" wide and 2.5" wide and I could only get 3 of either size on each row. It also held 4 champagne glasses but 3 Red wine glasses was a stretch. I found the best way to optimize storage was to not use one of the hanging racks which allowed me to have 2 rows of glasses on the shelf between the hanging glasses. There is also a good amount of space on each side of the hanging storage for shelf items.
We didn't want/need the wine racks in the bottom and needed more storage for big/tall items. We found that they easily slide out of the tracks by pressing the "hinge", much like most any cabinet drawers. (I did not remove the track attached to the cabinet) We now have storage for those big 1.75L bottles that are too fat to fit in the doors.
LOCK: Yes it does have a lock. My key was taped to the glass shelves that go into the cabinet. Those glass shelves are housed on top of the cabinet. So be careful when you unpack it! Note - some reviewers have mentioned the key was in the packing slip so be sure to take your packing slip off the box before they take it away.
PRICE: You can regularly find this cabinet for $1900 and $2500. It was around $1500 on Black Friday which is a steal. It is a nice cabinet but I wouldn't pay more than $2K for it. If you can find it (or have a coupon) for less, then IMO it's a good value.
DOORS: The piano hinges seem to bear the weight of all the heavy glasses & bottles well. The doors are a little off but I've found that they will "catch" if I close the left one first. If I close the right one first, they don't latch. It's a little annoying but not worth sending it back and is barely noticeable.
DELIVERY: Was a comedy of errors... Delivery takes 1-4 weeks and we were at the outside of that timeline. During the 4 weeks I had rcvd email confirmation of order, tracking info etc. When I checked my account on the 4th week there was no longer any tracking info. I called Great Offer Stock to see what was going on and they said I'd rcv a call from the carrier the same day. I never receive a call... 2 days later I got an email that they couldn't reach me! This after having already contacted Great Offer Stock, made sure my contact info was correct, delivery info was right and that there was no info to suggest they had ever tried to contact me or make a delivery attempt. To top it off, this email said that if I did not call the freight company immediately I would be on the hook for a $1500.00 charge to deliver the cabinet back to Great Offer Stock. Yes - they wanted me to pay One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars for return delivery because something in their process failed! Of course I called because I really wanted this cabinet but I had to make 3 calls to 3 different places because the freight company was totally disorganized. Anyway, they delivered it 2 days later but that in and of itself was an anxiety inducing experience. One guy was pretty cool, the other guy just manhandled the cabinet (I still can't believe he didn't break it) ripped the packaging apart (to the point where I found styrofoam and staples had been thrown 20' away), had no care for my home and made a big mess for me to clean up. Needless to say I hope I never have to go through that again... I will say though that is was packaged so well that they didn't break it :)
