I have this canvas in a huge 47 x 47 that I got at Bed, Bath, and Beyond in 2009. The colors in this photo do not come close to doing this piece justice. The colors are much more vibrant. Also, the main color is a a sunnier gold, not this blah, tan-ish-brown color that shows up on my Macbook Pro.
It's gorgeous - a meditation, visual poetry. Don Li-Leger's work is modern, and abstract-ish, yet feminine. How someone pulled that off, I don't know. Frankly, I thought the artist was going to turn out to be an Asian woman. I guess it was name and the softness, the flowers. I don't resonate with the paintings of his son, Noah. Many are of the same general genre but masculine.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to check to find out who the artist was. Finally did, today, hoping I could figure out how to replace this one in case something happened to it. What beautiful work this guy does in asian fusion. Just spent $500 bucks here buying some 16 x 16 sets and two bigger ones - all stretched canvas.
Also, checked all over. Prices here are by far the lowest, especially for sets.
