Colorful Rug - Average quality.
My wife selected the carpet, I agreed after reading the reviews and ordered it. It came in wrapped in plastic but without a tube - all fine. The edges were a little rough from the packaging and shipment but settled down after a couple days. For the center of the roll, we sat our sofa on it for a couple days and it too flattened out. It is flat after a week. It will not be flat immediately - to expect that is wrong.
We really like it. It just is an average to low quality piece. It isn't high quality by any means - you get what you pay for. What I don't like about the carpet is that it is thin compared to most of the local ones we looked at. We looked at $1200 down to $200 rugs in this size. It feels like a lower quality rug you would find at a big box grocery/department/everything else chain. So for the price - that is the quality you are getting. The colors and pattern are a different story though - you won't find them on run of the mill department store rugs. A national chain home / hardware chain had much higher quality rugs for the same price at their depot, but they were not as dynamic in color. We paid just under $$$ on sale for it and with shipping it is a fair price but certainly not a bargain in my book.
As for the colors. I am a computer guy and a graphic artist. We looked at the displayed photo on several monitors and on none of them was it close to the actual colors. It is darker with more vibrant, intense colors. The image for the "Carson-Brown-Gold-Contemporary-Area-Rug-67-x-96" Item 6219842 on Great Offer Stock is closer (it is the same design), still not as intense though. Every color in the book seems to be in it. Green is the predominant color more so than in the photo but under our night time lighting the green looks brown. There were some other comments on the amount of green - there is more than it looks like in the photo. The blue is vibrant - not turquoise or teal but it is a BRIGHT blue. Sort of Detroit Lions Honolulu Blue. There are some hints of true red flecks in it in a couple dark patches. Some orange, tans, browns and black pretty much finish it out. This is not as pastel as it looks.
