I was expecting more of a Metal finish, like silver coming through or something. Close up - It actually looks more like it was printed on plastic so its a little more cartoon-ish than old/worn that I was looking for. Far away - since we used it above a headboard you can't even tell. From far away it looks exactly like the picture and gives the room the warm feel I needed.
