I wanted something washable, and this isn't. I thought that if it was chenille, it could go in the washing machine. Nevertheless, it was cheap enough, that when it gets too grubby to clean any longer, I'll throw it out and look for something else. It looks good in front of the back door, and cat paw prints don't show up on it. It's easy care, because I can vacuum and spot clean.
