Works very well shading us from the South Texas sun Still looks good and isintact where others in my area have torn. The cover did not hold up well at all and shredded (literally into pieces) with hot sun and wind storms after a year of use.

Read MoreAwesome umbrella, but very heavy so I would recommend buying the base weights if you don't plan on bolting it to the ground.
Read MorePurchased recently but haven't been able to use yet. I bought 4 base sections that fit around the feet to weigh it down but had to return since hubby said there's no way they'll hold this massive umbrella. He's going to bolt the umbrella into our trex deck. That should do it. BTW it comes with a nice cover for when not in use.
Read MoreCantilevered umbrellas come in two major types, adjustable angle and static angle. If you look closely at all the different options available, the support arm that attaches to the umbrella is either on the outside of the main pole (cheaper umbrellas that don't adjust) or on the inside of the main pole (more expensive umbrellas), which means you can adjust the angle of the umbrella by sliding the support arm up and down the main pole. This Abba umbrella is the least expensive of the higher-end adjustable types, which can cost $1000 or more. Canvas quality is good, generally well-made, comes with a cover. It's BIG, so if you are considering brighter colors (we went with tan), know that it will be a big statement. As many reviewers have noted, the base is very lightweight and requires either than you drill the umbrella into your deck using the pre-drilled holes or use sandbags or pavers to weight it down. Abba sells a custom base that you can fill with sand or sand+water, look for part B00Y7TZQUY.
