Read All Reviews for USB 3.1 Type-C 7-port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual Switch

I originally purchased this to mount additional hard drives but only one hard drive may be used along with 6 other USB devices. However, when I installed it and tried it out only one monitor worked. I thought the unit was defective and returned it and ordered a different unit only to find out it also reacted the same way when trying to use multiple hard drives. I researched the problem on line and found ONLY one ext drive can be used on a USB hub. The other unit was a Tek-Republic TUH-3700 which also has 7 ports and was more expensive. I thought that being it was more expensive it would work better than the one I returned. It worked the same. So, I wound up spending more money to replace a unit I thought was defective (and paid for the return shipping on the "bad one") and then bought a more expensive one only to find out the first one was not defective. If I had seen this limitation of using hard drives in the product descriptions I would NOT have purchased either unit. As it is to conquer this problem I installed a 4 port USB card in my tower. And that ironically it cost less then both of the hubs I purchased on line. DO YOUR RESEARCH first to make sure you are getting exactly what you get to satisfy your needs.
