Wonderful TV, especially for the price.
We don't like frame interpolation -- we hate the "soap opera effect." This TV does not have any frame interpolation options, as far as I can tell. For us, this is completely fine. Others might be very bothered by this, so I'm moving this part right to the top of the review.
I'm extraordinarily pleased with this set. It's an ideal match for our needs.
I think the picture looks great; but I admit I'm judging displays is not my strong suite. 120Hz native refresh is exactly what I wanted. A clean 5-frame ration for 24Hz Blu Ray....check. We don't have any UHD sources, and don't anticipate getting anything soon. So the lack of UHD is just fine with us.
To my absolute surprise, I actually use the built-in Netflix. It loads in the background, so it comes up immediately. It's fast, and video quality is top-notch; I will note that we're not on the Netflix plan with 1080p video.
Here are my complaints, none of which are worth knocking off a star:
* The CEC assumes that we want to watch a Blu Ray anytime we set the input to the Receiver, which is pretty annoying. But the HDMI control is always a bit of a crap-shoot. Overall it works very well; I might switch the BR player to go into the TV directly.
* Turning the TV on with the Netflix button doesn't activate the receiver; so we just turn it on, then hit the Netflix button once everything is up and running.
* Built-in audio is a bit weak, but it's still usable for watching the News etc, so whatever. It doesn't help that a TV this large sits far out from the corner.
Lastly, I'll note that I got this for $* before they fixed the price. So it's a phenomenal value. Even aside from being "good for the price," I think it is just plain VERY GOOD. You do have to understand that features it simply doesn't have. For what the TV is trying to be it's nearly perfect.
