The main precaution I'd like to raise about this adapter kit is that its screw holes are not laid out to fit a standard 3.5 hard drive. Only four of the six line up with that of a standard hard drive, which still works for some installations, but will not work with the hard drive mounting systems in computers that have pins built in to fit into these six positions (many Dell, Lenovo, etc.). I got this bracket to work for mounting a 2.5" SSD in an open 3.5" drive bay made for flash card readers and the like, not hard drives. Bottom line, this won't fit into some hard drive holders that are pin based but works fine with in holders where you attach the drive with screws.
