3 layer case with rubberized shock resistant outer and removable screen protector belt clip attachment. I had the otterbox defender for my Note 2 for 2 years and it was great. Saved my phone many times during construction activities and dropping it down a story of concrete stairs. I remove the screen protector, its glued on and can be pulled off, because screen protectors destroy the original intent of the phone by hindering the viewing and wonderful touch functionality of the high tech brilliance and responsiveness of the main point of the phone, THE SCREEN. Besides, phone manufacturers are making the phones out of gorilla glass and other types of scratch resistant glass that by the time any scratches show up it's time to upgrade technology anyway so I would rather have the fantastic screen experience as it was meant to be experienced without a cheap piece of plastic hindering the process. My note 2 I also removed the screen protector from the get go and I still don't have any noticeable scratches on that screen.
During moments when I am in motion and I am not using my phone much, I always keep the phone in the belt clip holder with screen facing down for best protection practices.
It does make the phone less sleek and a little bulky, but it is that bulk that also helps ensure it is easier to hold and doesn't sleekly slip and fly out of the hand. It also makes the phone more noticeable so I am less likely to forget it anywhere.
Great case protection for an expensive piece of technology.
