Bought this to replace a Canon Rebel XS. I must say that the improvement over the XS is outstanding. The colors are very bright and ease of use is up to Canon standards. Haven't really found any reason to knock this camera at all. Video is easy and clear. Just shot video at a flag folding for Marine. The video was clean and crisp. This is a great camera and for the landscape photographer, the family picture guy, you have a winner in this one

Bought this for my first euro trip i suggest taking the time to learn because it has some great features I didn't even know about. I'm not a photography expert at all and the camera worked great for me. Only downside is it doesn't come with a strap or bag which I recommend if your traveling. It had a hand strap but when walking around it would be better if it had an over the neck one. I have had a hard time finding a cam bag that's universal for this model and traveling the world without one can be a little nerve wrecking. Great cam just needs basic accessories that aren't included
I really like this camera. I took it on vacation and it took some great photos in daylight and night, as well as from a moving boat and a moving bus. I had upgraded from a Lumix DMC-FZ35, so it was pretty easy to learn how to use, but had some new features which made it even more useful. I love the articulating LCD! This is my go to travel camera now - sufficient zoom and wide angle for most of the shots I take as an amateur, and the battery life is great. I took over 1500 photos in two weeks so really put it thru the test. My only complaint is the SilkyPix software- still haven't figured it out and I can't open the RAW pictures in my version of Photoshop, but it may just be an upgrade is needed. This is a good compromise camera for those not ready for a full DSLR, but want more than a pocket camera.
