Ok, well, this KVM switch works great, but you need to watch out if you're going to be connecting older/legacy computers to it that use the old PS2 interface (if you're a dinosoaur use like me you know what I mean! LOL!). My son had to help me out with this one because I thought it would be plug and play on the older PC's as well like it was on my newer laptop and desktop (both running Windows 7 and 8.1 with more updated and advanced BIOS systems), but my 2 older Desktops 0 each about 8-10 years old using the PS2 USB Adaptors - did NOT want to "play nice" with this device! According to my son, the problem was truly a BIOS issue, in that the USB keyboard input on the KVM switch was replacing the previous PS2 direct connect keyboard and mouse (the green and purple ended ones), and so he actually had to connect a PS2 Keyboard to both of the older machines, enter the BIOS, and make some changes, as well as get Windows XP on the 2 older machines to see the new USB based mouse and keyboard connections), and THEN connect the KVM to the machines after making the necessary changes (of course, you're machines may be different, so your mileage her may vary! LOL!). But, after all that, this IOGEAR KVM Switch works great! It's very easy to just push the little button thingy and switch between 4 different computers. Great product!
I "thought" my computer was plugged into a surge protector - alas - I was wrong! And it only took a lighting strike a few yards from my house to figure that out...So, I corrected that oversight with this excellent, quality product. Seems sturdy, a bit beefy - but - isn't that what you want in a surge protector? Very happy with my purchase - let's hope lightning doesn't strike twice! But if it does? My computer will be protected with this baby!
