I love the machine and the way it zips through heavier fabrics. drop-in bobbin is more complicated than necessary to get the thread in place to sew. I hope it becomes easier with use.

This is a great little stitcher but for some reason, it wants to "jump" out of the thread uptake and then it snarls.

This a great machine for the average person. Basic stitches and good for sewing through heavy or multiple layers. Easy to use. Always use correct needle and make sure you thread correctly. Barbara

This is a real bargain on Overstick, I compared by visiting merchants who carried this machine. It is sturdy, quiet when operating, and I have had terrific results. Singer puts tighter quality machines and I have less worry about plastic breakages

I opened up my new sewing machine today,and followed the step by step guide in threading it and just getting started. I love it, it's easy to manuver and it fast. I had compare prices at several well known stores and had decided to purchase the standard model, I got an email from greatofferstock.com and stroll through their website and ran across the singer heavy duty model for the same amount I was going to pay for the standard model. I bought this macine to learn to sew, mainly hemming pants. After a couple of hours instruction on YouTube I can't believe how easy it is to do. I have no idea How this machine works but it is absolute magic what the finished product is.

I've had this machine for less than 3 months and used it just a few times. The tension control became useless and anything I tried to stitch developed extensive birds nesting of thread on the underside of the fabric. Singer offered to check it out if I shipped it to Oneida NY. They would cover the repairs and return shipping. I am a novice at sewing and wasted countless hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong or how I could correct the problem. I brought it to a local sewing machine dealer who told me not to waste my money fixing it, as Singer hasn't made a decent machine since the 1960s. I purchased a Husqvarna Viking Emerald and it's head and shoulders above the Singer. I would not recommend Singer to anyone.

Excellent little machine! Powers through thick fabrics, yet gentle on delicates. As a first time sewer this was easy to learn and will take me to more difficult projects with ease.

I needed a lightweight, heavy duty Machine that could handle multiple layers of fabric. So far I have not had any problems with this machine. I'm still learning. I haven't figured out how to use the self threading technique. I would recommend this machine for beginners ss well as advanced sewers.
