The cut and fabric are quite high-end and elegant. I'm impressed, as I was expecting more of a "knockaround" top coat given the price.
The only odd thing is that the top button, which is set just behind the very tapered bottom end of the lapel, causes the button-side of the lapel to stick out at that spot if you button that top button. Not a deal-breaker by any means, I guess I'll just avoid buttoning that button.
Given that it's a very long lapel opening, this coat doesn't cover your upper middle chest - the idea being that you're wearing a sport jacket or suit jacket underneath. So it looks elegant, but does leave your chest exposed, as classic car coats do.
So if you intend to wear it as intended, go up a size. I wear a 48L and ordered a 50L. Fits perfectly and comfortably over a tweed sport coat.
Too bad I can only wear a coat like this about 6 times a year since I'm in *****
