Almost perfect. Easy to shorten the length.
I was very impressed by the design and operation of this belt. In the past I have always had to use a leather punch to make extra holes in my belts to allow for a good fit with different pants. The adjustable ratchet design eliminates that need and you can adjust it at any time without removing the belt.
It is very good quality leather and attractive.
As for choosing a length, the belt is easily shortened if it is too long, so be sure and order the next larger size if you have any doubt as to your exact fit.
The belt is attached to the buckle by a simple quick release mechanism and to shorten it, remove the belt from the buckle, and cut off that end squarely the exact amount you want to remove, then reattach the buckle. I used my kitchen shears to cut a few inches off. Just be sure not to cut the end that you see when you put the belt on. In the past if I found a belt that I really liked and just wanted it shortened a couple of inches I had to take it to a shoe repair shop so they could remove the buckle, then shorten that end and re stitch the belt to the buckle. That is longer needed and I was able to remove just a little, try the fit, then remove another inch to make it perfect.
The only thing I don't like is the buckle is very heavy. It is also very well made and attractive, so that's a minor inconvenience. I would wear this belt whenever I am expected to "dress up."
It would be nice if they made a lighter weight one, perhaps with a different metal? Other than that it's probably the best belt I have ever owned.
