I really like the look and heel on this shoe, so I am keeping them. However, when I purchased them, they were described as a dance shoe. While the thicker, stable, flared heel is perfect for ballroom and Latin, the sole is not suede. It's not an overly sticky sole, and I suspect that these shoes will be attractive and fine for social dancing on less-than-optimal dance floors. I hope that the odor dissipates. Right now, they smell quite bad (perhaps from the dye used on the satin and then being wrapped in plastic. I'm keeping them because they are attractive and stable, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who is looking for a real dance shoe for ballroom/Latin.
