This may be my fault but I owe it to my fellow overstockers to alert you that 95% Modal and 5% Elastane fabric results in more of a thin, clingy, spandexy look. I did not do enough homework on this first and thought, based on the information in the 'details' of this item, that I would be getting a skirt that was more on the soft, cotton, jersey type. The waistband is, indeed, elastic so is more of a one-size-fits-all quality skirt. As I said, the 5% elastane fabric means it is more on the rayon side and not cotton (at all). Sort of a shiny look. I definitely wouldn't consider this a skirt you could "Easily tuck your favorite top..." into "...for a more polished look" because tucking anything that isn't form fitting through the hip into this skirt isn't going to be anything but lumpy. I 'might' "...layer a simple tank and cardigan" with it but not without a thick, contrasting belt and I definitely wouldn't consider it "...a chic laid-back feel." The elastic waistband this skirt features reminds me of the waistband the stretchy pants had that my grandmom used to wear in the 1970's! It's very 'square' elastic so, if you have any sort of 'rolls', I imagine it would fold over onto itself if you stood with a slump or sat down with poor posture. The waistband and skirt itself is not very flattering. If you are conscious of lumps and bumps, you couldn't wear this skirt confidently without control top panty hose, spanx, or a girdle of some sort. When I read "ultra-soft modal fabric" I immediately assumed it was more on the soft, jersey, cotton side. I would never describe this fabric as 'ultra-soft'. It's that thin, lightweight, semi-shiny fabric that always seems cool to the touch. Personally, I don't think this would look right with a sweater or pumps. A loose, tunic type top would make this look very frumpy. Since it's an A-line skirt, I think you would need to pair this with a form fitting or crop top of some sort in order to balance out your shape. A similar fabric cowl neck top or wrap top (either of similar fabric or one of those soft, ballerina type wrap sweaters!) would also look very nice with this skirt. If worn with a blouse or sweater or anything not form fitting, I'd recommend a thick belt to accentuate your waist and clearly separate the loose top from the A-line skirt to tie the two shapes together and to keep it looking like you have too much going on - that might bring attention to things you don't want to showcase to the world. I think it would look better with a casual wedge, slingback, or mule pump. I think flats would look odd with this skirt and might make your calves look bigger than they are. Anyway, this was not what I was expecting and not my style so I did not keep because of my body type, shape, and height. That is not to say it wouldn't look great on you. I really just wanted to stress what you should anticipate in terms of the fabric so you truly know what to expect and give some examples of what I think could be worn nicely with this skirt to explain the feel of the fabric itself.
