I have been using a water pillow for about 10 years now. They have served me well, but when my latest one sprung a leak I decided to look at alternatives. I had a latex pillow when I was a young boy, but that was long ago, and I wasn't certain it it would be the right solution for me now. I looked at down alternatives (I am allergic to down) as well as granulated latex, and pillows made of wool batting as well as pillows filled with wool "pearls."
I decided that a solid latex core would probably work best for me, and boy does it.
I am a side sleeper, and sometimes I have neck issues. This pillow is soft and springy, and at first I was concerned that it was too soft to provide proper support for my neck. It has not been a problem at all. Latex is naturally resilient, so when I first lay my head on the pillow it descends into a cloud of softness, that then subtly rebounds until my head has just the right level of support to keep my neck in line with my body - it's almost like magic.
Combined with the 100% latex mattress I purchased recently, I am now sleeping better than ever, and waking up in the morning without aches and pains.
If you are worried about a latex pillow sleeping hot, this one does not. The cotton cover is quilted with wool batting, this gives it a nice surface feel beneath the pillowcase, and it hasn't felt any hotter than your run of the mill fiber-fill pillow.
I highly recommend this pillow.
