My 4-1/2 yr. old grandchild manages to wet everywhere except in the middle of the waterproof mattress protector...
Seriously, he wet the "Sides" !!!
How pray tale does a person wet the "sides" of the mattress?
Well, his bed is positioned next to the wall...he often will gravitate to that area during the night. Hence, most of his urine went along the "sides" of the mattress protector; which, unfortunately, doesn't have "protection" fabric sewn in that particular area.
For this precious child (that is too scared to go to the potty during the night...even with various nite lights & child-sized flashlights). We will have to try a few different methods.
Solution 1: I'm afraid his drinking privileges will have to be "cut off" at a certain time! I know that this may appear cruel, but we do not know what else to do. We can't keep purchasing new mattresses.
SOLUTION 1 & 2: Perhaps, his parents can set an alarm for themselves...and wake him up every few hours...to go to the bathroom.
Maybe by doing this, along with the drinking "cut-off"...it may help remedy the problem. I'M HOPEFUL!!!
PRODUCT PROS: The middle section is effective, it really is WATER PROOF, The Product washes well...just follow directions on package.
CONS: I wish the SIDES were water proof, as well...but, I knew this prior to purchasing the Terry Waterproof Mattress Protector.
*Most mattress protectors DO NOT add protection fabric on the SIDES, but in this particular case I wish that the manufacturer put the "protection fabric" on the entire product! :-(
