As far as quality and comfort it's a 5 star, it's the fit I get aggravated about.
I purchased new Twin-XL beds for my parents (39x80) the standard size. It's annoying that foam toppers and fabric mattress pad makers state they make them 1 to 2" shorter width and length-wise "so the sheets will fit." I remember that a problem only in the 1960s!. In this day and age, sheets are made extra wide and extra extra tall to fit all the sizes of beds out there, and if the topper & pad are the shape and size of the bed, the sheet should fit it like it was the mattress! By having these things shorter around, it makes your bed size smaller by looks and feel--especially when it's a 2 person bed! I've had so many visitors complain that our guest queen bed "must be a full" because the topper & pad make them lose 4" from the bed and feel confined to the center of the bed--and that's why I'd buy large foams and cut it myself--such a waste of money..
WITH THAT SAID -- this pad washed nicely and only shrank and extra inch WIDTH-WISE, but none length-wise. The skirt is very stretchy but extra tight and almost difficult to stretch around the twin-xl bed, but keeps it on firm. Cotton tops allow you to breathe, and this was nice to find one again that is cotton instead of microfibre or plastic poly.
i just wish someone would go back to making these things as wide as the bed--even when washed!
