This is a unique mattress pad, I have never seen, nor used one like it before. The bubbles on top of it, feel like each one is individually is filled with air, making it feel really comfortable on the bed. The protective lining is not the ordinary plastic type lining you often find on back of them, that crinkles every move you make, but almost a vinyl type, that doesn't make a sound when you move on it, and doesn't wake you while trying to sleep on it. I bought 2 different kinds of mattress pads, to put on several of our beds in a camper and at home. We had rain in our area for about 1 month with only rare non-rainy days. I pre-washed all of the pads, making sure to follow the washing instructions, because I didn't want to mess it up. Previously I had always just laundered my water proof mattress pads with sheets, and it took forever to dry them, but the instructions said to dry them with items such as heavy weight fabric like heavy towels, heavier weight than the mattress pad, and it would not only dry better, but protect the waterproof lining. Anyway, after all the rain, we went to the camper to stay for a week, and found that it had leaked several places, one being right above our queen size bed that we had just purchased and placed a brand new 3" Memory Foam topper and luckily this mattress pad for, just about 1 month before. It leaked so bad there was still a puddle lying in the middle of the bed, and you could see the outlines around the pooled ared where it had also been. We soaked up the remaineder of the water and removed all the bedding, and amazingly none of the water had gone through.
I'm sorry for dragging this out for so long, but I wanted to make sure I represented the quality of this this product in a manner it deserved, because it took care of my bed and my new mattress topper. So yes, it did exactly what it was intended to do, protect our bed, but is also quiet and comfortable to sleep on, so I would not only recommend it to a friend or foe, bit I would buy another one.
