I received the "Bed in a Bag" free from the manufacturer in exchange for a non biased (I have no vested interest in this company) opinion. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much more than a low quality, affordable solution for let's say a college student in a dorm setting. My previous experience with an "all in one bedding solution" type product were cheaply made, uncomfortable products featured at your local big box store. This product is a HIGH- QUALITY, COMFORTABLE, CONVENIENT solution for anyone who enjoys a 5 star hotel like sleep experience in their own home (or anywhere else you decide to take it, since it all fits in the plastic carrying case it comes in for reuse.) Here is a more individualized product breakdown:
Down alternative comforter: Now, I am half German so it runs deep in my DNA to expect A LOT of my comforters, especially if they aren't real down. This one is definitely the best one I have ever owned. It's about medium warmth (not too hot for the summer, but may need a blanket on top in the winter if you like to be really warm and cozy.) The comforter itself is a bright white, has a very lovely diamond design, and has "pockets" stitched to ensure that the fill material doesn't move, creating equal warmth all over. I have had it on my bed without a duvet cover and it looks like a luxury resort. I almost hate to cover it up.
Microfiber sheet set (bottom, top, and 2 pillow cases in size king): Very soft, comfortable bright white sheets. Seem to have good construction. We have an Inteligel mattress without a memory foam topper. The sheets had slack on all 4 sides. It doesn't bother me but it seems like they would fit much snugger with a taller mattress or the addition of a foam topper.
Pillows: Again, these pillows reminded me of a very high quality, luxury hotel experience. I plan to use them as my "go to" guest pillows. While they are comfortable, I prefer something a little taller and firmer. Obviously it is impossible to make everyone happy since pillows are SO individual, but overall I didn't remove a star because I feel that they are high quality and usable.
Bottom line is that I would purchase this product for every bed in my house. It is affordable, convenient, and would make an awesome wedding gift. I just feel like the name does the product a disservice because of the reasons mentioned above. A viable alternative? Well, I'm no marketing genius, but if I could choose a name that better fit the product it would be something like "All in One Luxury Sleep Set" or something along those lines.
