3 Quick & Easy Tips for a Cleaner Kitchen

A clean kitchen is a blank canvas to start your day off right. If your family spends the bulk of their time in the kitchen like mine does, a fresh kitchen is a must. Here are three daily tips to keep your kitchen feeling clean and tidy in no time.

Keep Counters & Floors Crumb-Free

My world looks a little brighter and feels a little cleaner if I keep pesky crumbs off my counters, and it’s truly the fastest and easiest way to keep your kitchen feeling sparkly and clean. While my floors are generally easy to ignore visually, a quick sweep keeps my bare feet crumb-free, making my cooking experience feel cleaner.

2

Freshen Sponges & Dishcloths

A sour sponge is my worst nightmare. To keep sponges fresh, clean them daily with a good rinse of soap and very hot water. Once a week, run the sponge through the dishwasher for a deep clean. A sweet-smelling sponge makes for a sweet-smelling kitchen. I also keep several dishcloths on hand that I use for only one or two days before pulling out a clean one.

3

Do the Dishes

If you’re like me, you’re usually in a hurry in the morning, so you leave your dishes in the sink to get to work on time. But no matter how busy my schedule, I do my best to make sure I don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink for more than 24 hours. Taking five to ten extra minutes in the evening to clean out the sink is always worth it the next morning.
