Purchased for a 7 year old boy. He was really happy with the gift. The handheld remote has a 9 volt batter, however the initial charge for the car takes 8 hours. If want the kid to play with the gift right after you give it, please charge the car and put it back in the box before you give the gift.

I wasn't expecting it to be so big. The kids play with it in our unfinished basement and they complain that it is slow. I'd love to see it perform outside where it can really pick up speed. We'll see in the spring!
