Big Barker 7" Orthopedic Dog Bed - Headrest Edition

This is much more supportive and comfortable than any of the other dog beds we've had...even the more expensive ones. My daughter wants me to buy one for her. Lol

Unfortunately, my dog will not lay on it

Our elderly Retriever has arthritis and it is difficult for her to rise from a standard dog bed. We bought this specifically to assist her, in hopes that it would be firm enough to cradle her and not too firm to cause more issues. The days that she uses it do seem to be better days for her than the times she chooses the hard floor. I use a standard chair/sofa cover on top of the bed and it gives her the feel of being on the sofa, which she is now unable to do. She seems to prefer that to the microsuede feel of the bed, but that is most likely because she is more familiar with that type of cover. I did need to coax her onto the bed several times before she chose to use it. After several months, she seemed to realize it was helping her and she will lift herself from the hard floor and go to bed when she is feeling achy. It is an expensive bed, and an investment, but the cover has well weathered the occassional nesting/scratching from our other Retriever and the bed holds its shape and firmness very well. The XL is a bit cumbersome, but it fits 2 Retrievers when they are willing to share it. The headrest is a plus. Note: It is hard to keep our small children off the bed because it does have the feel of a human quality mattress. (Better than toddler mattresses!) With the many common coupons from Overstock, the price was the best I have seen, and I did shop around to many other stores prior to purchasing!

Do not love this bed- too thick for my elderly dog to get on and it's extremely difficult to remove and put the cover back on after washing. I previously had a bed that had a slick fabric 2nd covering which made it very easy to attach the outer cover.

Very hefty and comfy for them!

I bought two for my smaller dogs Jack Russell 40 pounds and mix Docson 20 pounds neither dog likes the bed or used the bed. Its thinner than the larger bed this one was not a hit for my dogs

We ordered 2 of the beds for our aging golden retrievers. They both love their beds and we feel good that the product was made in the USA. I love that the color fits in with our decor.

Excellent dog bed. Good quality and my dog loves it so far. Shipped very fast and packaging was very easy to open. No damage when arrived. My dog likes to dig and scratch the bed. We will see how long this one lasts.

This bed is exactly what we needed! The quality is excellent and the support is actually enough for my 80lb dog. We've had the bed for a couple of months, have washed the cover, and it looks exactly the same as the day we received it. Before, we were going through at least one bed a year because they just went flat and wore out quickly. This bed is more expensive but I don't think I'll ever have to replace it. It's well worth the money. I bought the bed for my senior dog, but my younger dog loves it just as much so we may have to buy another.

I wish I could give this bed 5 stars, but I cannot. The quality is very good, the bed is very well made. My only issue with it is that my old dog will not go near it. He’s sniffed it, walked on it, laid next to it- but he won’t use it. At all. My 5 year old boy likes it, but only if I but another bed on it. That said, I have sat on it and I find it very comfortable.

This is by far the BEST bed ever made! I can sleep with my dog at times! My golden retriever LOVES this bed and it really helps him with his achy joints. He's easily rested while laying on his bed.

I bought one of these and our German Shepherd liked it so much, I came back for a 2nd. I bought the one with the headrest and he sleeps on it in our bedroom. I bought a 2nd one, without the headrest, for our living room. We also have a Golden and she likes it too.

My dog loves her new bed! In fact, my toddler grandson does too!! Super comfortable and roomy enough for two. Appears to be a good value for the money, but time will tell!

The bed is much different from the beds I have purchased in the past. The quality is on another level.... The company advertises longevity and MADE IN USA, we will see! A dog bed lasts about 6 -9 months in our house before it wears out. I look forward to seeing how this one holds up. I plan to buy the waterproof cover. I am excited to finally buy something made in USA.

My dog is a 180 lb Newfoundland who seldom uses a bed when he can lay on cool tile. This is not much of an exception. But, it gives him plenty of room and is big enough that I can sit next to him and brush him without my knees hurting from the tile. The foam is really dense and neither of us barely squish it at all.

I ordered this bed for my senior Bullmastiff. She always loved very comfy large beds, and this one certainly fit the bill. Unfortunately, she developed some very sudden symptoms of a brain tumor only a few days after I received this bed, so she never really got to enjoy it. Therefore, I cannot really speak to the long-term usage of this product. I did receive it, and from what I saw of it it seemed to be of the highest quality. I donated it after her passing, and I can only hope the next dog really got to enjoy it for years to come.
