this is made well and looks nice for the office

This book case is quite heavy, made of particle board with a fake wood veneer. The back, which nails on, is made of cardboard. Without nailing this in place the case doesn't stay square. The one shelf sets on top of four small pegs with small rubbery guards on them so it can pull right out. For the money it's ok but not a real piece of furniture per se.

The book case is perfect for the space where I wanted to put it. It seems sturdy. I have put together eight other pieces of furniture, but this one gave me trouble. The holes all matched up, but the directions were strange. I finally just went with what I instinctively knew should happen. But someone putting one together for the first time, might have trouble. However, it went together and it is still standing, so all is well.

I purchased this shelf in a dark tone. I was able to construct it without any problem. The thickness of the frame, shelf planks and the fittings together have made for a sturdy shelf. The shelf heights are ample for large binder notebooks. The width accommodated the many reference notebooks I needed it for. Over all, the functionality and the rich appearance is excellent.
