Everything was as described

I have wanted a leather backpack for a long time and when i got a raise I decided to treat myself - I looked at lots but kept coming back to this one. I read reviews about the smell, but I like the smell of leather so I thought I would be able to handle it - I'm not that picky. When I opened the package the smell practically knocked me over - and it isn't just a smell of leather, it smells like manure (I grew up around farms and I know what manure smells like, and this is it). I have aired it, used febreze on it, used leather treatment on it - and I even went so far as to soak it and scrub it - I don't even care it that "distresses" the leather as long as I can get rid of the reek - I can always recondition the leather later. So far to no avail - and this is after several weeks of letting it air out. I have used it but have been very self-conscious, and I noticed that it made my clothes smell. I can smell it across the room, and I was getting headaches and asthma flairs. I have it sealed in a very large ziploc bag with newspaper and baking soda, but I am not holding out much hope. I'm giving it two stars because I love everything else about the bag - but it will do me no good at all if I can't use it.

I bought this bag as a gift for my boyfriend. He absolutely loved it. The bag is very well-made. Fits a Laptop and many other things. Highly recommend.
